Kuptz Health Coaching
Certified Health CoachMy Personal Journey to Become a Certified Health Coach
I have always had a passion for health and wellness as I grew up in a health conscious family. Sugar cereal and soda was never an option in our house and our meals were very well- balanced. I had no idea the impact or importance food had on the body at the time, but as my parents said, “you will understand when you get older.” Now that I am a parent I have found that not everyone has that same understanding. This is why I have become so passionate about sharing this knowledge.
I was blessed to receive a full ride swimming scholarship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison where I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. I ended my swimming career as a 3 time NCAA All-American and learned in my final year how fueling your body with proper nutrition is crucial for optimal performance. Due to poor nutrition, I became anemic my senior year and for the first time, I did not qualify for NCAAs. This was not the vision I had to end my swimming career, yet I learned a valuable lesson. I graduated and went on to spend the next 17 years in sales, but was always drawn to health and wellness.
I married Brian Kuptz and together we have 2 children, Brayden (7) and Kaylee (4). As a mom of two young children, I have experienced first hand the frustration due to picky eaters which had an impact on the immune system. My son had severe texture issues that required therapy and my daughter had issues that were more behavioral based. When I met Dr. Bill Sears at a conference, he shared valuable advice for my picky eaters that changed our world. My passion for health and wellness was ignited and I wanted to learn more and share his knowledge and expertise with other moms just like me. I enrolled in the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute to learn from a physician I medically aligned with and highly respected. I am certified as a Dr. Sears L.E.A.N. Start coach (families & children), L.E.A.N Expectations (pregnancy & nursing), and Primetime Health (Adults & Seniors). He teaches there are 4 pillars of health; lifestyle, exercise, attitude and nutrition. It is the balance of all of these that will lead to a successful health journey.
My goal is to help shape the behavior of individuals and families by teaching them to use those 4 pillars to make simple changes to their lifestyle that will affect their health and well-being. Just as it did for me, it all starts with education on knowing what to do. Then, it’s about practically applying that knowledge to make it work with your lifestyle. It just makes sense- we make an effort to protect our material belongings, it is time we make prevention a priority and focus on a healthy future.
Ambition is the first step to success. The second step is action.
